What to maximize your impact?
Online donations include a small service fee. For contributions over $100, you may prefer to donate by cheque so more of your gift goes directly to the project. Donation forms are available, and cheques can be dropped off at the school—we’ll take care of the rest.

Turn Recycling into Play!
This is another simple and impactful way for OHS families to support our fundraising efforts. By recycling items you already have at home, you can help raise funds while keeping usable materials out of the landfill.
What can you donate?
Skip the Depot accepts a variety of items, including:
- Aluminum cans
- Plastic and glass bottles
- Juice boxes and drink cartons
- Milk containers
- Used clothing
- Small household electronics
How it works
Simply schedule a pickup with Skip the Depot and select Olympic Heights Elementary School – OHS Play as your donation recipient—they’ll take care of the rest.
Household Item Donations
Our partnership with Skip the Depot also gives OHS families the opportunity to turn unwanted household items into a donation for our playground.
Instead of throwing these items away, you can donate them through Skip the Depot, helping keep usable materials out of the landfill while supporting our fundraising efforts.
What can you donate?
Skip the Depot accepts a wide variety of household items, including:
- Clothing and textiles, in any condition
- Shoes and footwear
- Purses, backpacks, belts and wallets
- Bedding, towels, curtains, pillows and linens
- Reusable shopping bags and cloth bags
- Hats, mittens, scarves and accessories
- Cleaning cloths, rags and scrap fabric
- Carry-on luggage, duffel bags and suitcases
There are no quality requirements for clothing or shoes. Skip the Depot accepts gently used, stained, worn and damaged items, including clothing with holes, scrap fabric and more.
How it works
You can schedule a pickup with Skip the Depot or drop off your donations at the Springbank Skip the Depot location. For drop-offs, simply add your Skip the Depot ID to all bags and make sure OHS Play is selected as your donation recipient in the app. 95% of the proceeds from your donations will go directly to support our OHS playground fundraising efforts!
