We’re building a new playground—and our students are going to help make it happen!
October 1–31
This October, Olympic Heights students will become OHS Playmakers as they take part in a fun, school-wide fundraising challenge in support of the Olympic Heights School Playground Revitalization Project.
But this challenge is about more than raising money.
We want our students to feel like they are part of building their new playground—working together, getting creative and seeing how their contributions can help make a difference in their own school.

How Can We Be Playmakers?
There are lots of ways families can support their students in the challenge. Students are encouraged to take the lead and get creative, with families helping them choose an approach that works for them.
They might:
- Collect bottles and cans
- Take on extra chores at home
- Save spare change
- Create something to sell
- Organize a fun activity or challenge
- Ask family and friends to support them through an online donation
- Come up with their own fundraising idea
Families and classrooms can choose what works best for them. There is no required fundraising activity.
For families with multiple children at OHS, siblings can team up and fundraise together. Just make a note of each child’s share of the proceeds so it can be applied to their individual classroom totals.
After all, no student wants to miss out on the chance to help their class win a pizza party!
The most important thing is to have fun, work together and help bring OHS Play one step closer to reality.
Online Donations Count!
Students can also collect donations through Parks Foundation Calgary in support of OHS Play. These donations will count toward the OHS Playmakers Challenge.
When making an online donation, please ask the donor to include the following in the “Additional Comments” section of the donation form: Student’s name | Classroom | Teacher’s name
This will help us make sure the donation is credited to the correct student and classroom.
What’s Up for Grabs?
We’ll be celebrating our students’ efforts along the way, with some fun prizes for our top Playmakers.
Top Fundraising Class
The class that raises the most will celebrate with a pizza party!
Top Fundraiser — Grades 4–6

Top Fundraiser — Kindergarten–Grade 3

Every Student Can Be a Playmaker
Whether a student raises $5, collects bottles with their family or comes up with a creative fundraising idea, every contribution helps.
Our playground project is about creating a more accessible, inclusive and exciting space where children can play, connect and enjoy time with their friends.
The OHS Playmakers Challenge is one more way our students can be part of making that vision a reality.
Every student. Every class. Every contribution.
Together, we’re building OHS Play!
Ready, Set, Play!
Most of all, have FUN with the challenge, get creative and enjoy being a Playmaker!
Let’s make OHS Play happen!
Thank you for helping our students become Playmakers!
How to Submit Fundraising Money
Please do not send any fundraising money to the school. All funds raised should be submitted directly to Parks Foundation Calgary.
Submit Fundraising Here
- Select Olympic Heights School Parents Association-Olympic Heights PG Resurfacing from the Project List drop-down menu.
- In the Additional Comments section, include your child’s name, classroom and teacher’s name (e.g., Student Name | Classroom | Teacher Name). This will help us track each student’s fundraising efforts.
- Have your child hand in their completed fundraising tracker to their teacher.
We’ll cross-reference the trackers with donations processed through Parks Foundation Calgary to ensure each student receives credit for their fundraising efforts.
